    Hello Marilyn,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

I understand you want to use Office on your iPad. In fact, on iPadOS platform there is a Microsoft 365 (Office) application, which is the mobile version of Office products. You can use this app to experience supported mobile Office features.

You can search and download this app in APP Store. Please notice that Microsoft 365 (Office) is a free application, but a valid Microsoft personal/family subscription is needed to allow edit and most other features. See: What you can do in the Microsoft 365 apps on mobile devices with a Microsoft 365 subscription - Microsoft Support

You will need to sign in your Microsoft account in this app, and after you have signed in, if you find that you cannot edit files, please check your subscriptions in the Service and Subscriptions Page.

Hope you can enjoy editing with Office on your iPad! If you need any further assistance, please let me know and I'll provide more advice.

    Best Regards,
