cannot reactivate office 365

My Microsoft 365 home subscription have sudden stop working after I changed my password , while I can sign on to the online version, my office app have all required to reactivation and show account error, have tried to update license but it keep giving my error code 29. try to contact the Microsoft support and they are no respond.

    I have realized that your Office application stops working and with the error code 29.

    We recently received another burning question about a triangular exclamation mark in the upper right corner of the username. Also on the File > account page, you need to fix your account, by clicking on Activate, you will get an error with error code 29.

    If the error problem is like this?

    If so, as mentioned above, your problem is sometimes related to permissions. Here's another permission-related solution you can try:

    1. Press Windows + R to open the run box, copy and paste the following path, back up all folders in this path, and then delete them.

    %localappdata%/Microsoft/OneAuth

    %localappdata%/Microsoft/IdentityCache

    1. Press Windows + R, enter regedit, click OK, open the registry, find the next registry subkey, right-click Identity, and delete it.

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Identity

    1. We've recently received feedback from users that reinstalling Microsoft 365 using an offline installer may resolve the issue.

    Some users have already reported that reinstalling with an offline installer has solved the problem.

    I suggest you try uninstalling the software first and then try to install it using the offline installer.

    1. Other users have mentioned that reverting Office versions can fix the problem

    There is also a way to fix the problem by going back to an older version of Word.

    You can confirm your current version of Word by clicking File > Account > About Word

    Search for "CMD" in the search box in the bottom left corner and run the command prompt as administrator.

    cd %programfiles% \Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun

    Press Enter when you are done typing and type on the next line

    For example: April 9, 2024, version 2403 (Build 17425.20176)

    Officec2rclient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.17425.20176

    Steps 1 and 2 were sufficient.

    I renamed the %localappdata%/Microsoft/OneAuth and %localappdata%/Microsoft/IdentityCache folders rendering them inaccessible. I then started regedit from the command prompt, backed up the registry, and deleted the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Identity registry subkey.

    I had tried reinstalling office with no results, installing from the ISO file with no success. A phone call and long chat with Microsoft Support got nowhere. Too many ineffective posts compounded by search engine retrieval of obsolete information effectively shields this post from discovery.

    A simple program could have safely achieved the same results. How many users have had months or years modifying the Registry multiple times every day to develop or test software? As indicated above, it is simpler to rename the bad folders to something like OneAuth_bad and IdentityCache_bad will effectively hide and preserve the folders,

    if needed.

    I wasted a considerable amount of time that could have been spent on more productive tasks if Microsoft 365 documentation included some insight into the file structure and Registry locations essential to running office. I wish that Microsoft 365 had better error reporting and a more coherent way to identify and solve problems.
