    Hi georgegoddardAQ,

Welcome to the Microsoft Community. I understand the inconvenience of not being able to access the letter you wrote.

This may be due to the document being moved or renamed, causing the access to fail.

Where did you open this document? You can take a screenshot of this page.

Try opening it in Word in the following way, does the problem still exist?

In Word, click File -> Open -> Browse Folders, select the document you need and click open.

Alternatively, just press Windows + E to open File Explorer and then search for the document name here to open it and see if the problem persists.

If you can't open it either way, it could be due to the document being accidentally deleted, so try accessing the Recycle Bin to see if it's there.

If you need further assistance, please feel free to ask.

    Sincere greetings,

Ian - MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist
