Hi,

I am looking for an official definition of the metadata "last modified" for folders. I know that it means that this is the date the file was changed the last time, but does this include copying, moving, changing any sub-folders and so on? I have tried this already but I need an official statement on that in order to use it in a report.

Thank you

    Hello there,

I am not sure about official documentations.

The Date Modified is actually the date when the file was created. It should not change when you send it. The created date is when the file was originally created and the modified date is from the last time you've modified the file.

The Last Modified Date for OneDrive will be updated when one of the following events is triggered:

    1. A file is edited or changed within a users document library or "Shared with Everyone" folder either through the sync-client or using a web browser.
    2. A file or folder is deleted within a users document library or "Shared with Everyone folder using either the sync-client or web browser.
    3. A file or folder is created within a users document library or "Shared with Everyone folder using the sync-client or web browser.

Hope this resolves your Query !!
