I am in the editing process of a book I've written and have a question. If I make the sub-headers bold, which they should be, they will also be bold in the Table of Contents. Is there anything that can be done so that the sub-headers are bold in the text part but have normal text in the TOC?

Make the paragraph style for these headings (not headers) bold. That will not transfer into the TOC.
