Up until today, there was a save indication at the top of the Microsoft Word window when I saved a document.

The save indication disappeared when I made changes to the document.

I need this feature.

I hope there is a setting somewhere to get it back.

I'm having the same problem. Nothing happens or changes visually when I click the Save icon or hit Ctrl+S. The only way I can tell if my document is saved is to check the time stamp in the folder, which breaks my concentration while working. Even uninstalling and reinstalling Office didn't help. I really need this fixed!

    Unfortunately, I don't get a prompt with CTL-S.

    Maybe they removed that too.

I have a feeling the loss of the save status and save prompts are not bugs but feature removals :(

Yes, it seems to be missing. I can confirm with version 2409. No one here can explain what happened or when it might be fixed.

Ctrl+S is your friend. Adopt a habit of pressing it every once in a while. When asked by Word if you want to save changes to your document, answer "yes."

I don't use OneDrive and therefore cannot use Autosave.

If you edited an existing doc opened from OneDrive the AutoSave on the ribbon is active - and autosaved
