Error when trying to go to "Settings" HRESULT : 0x80070002

So i have Visual Studio 2019 Community installed on two computers ( one of them fresly imaged )

And i have and error on both when trying to go to the settings section of the software solution.

What i want to do is store some settings regarding the form position and to do that i need to store some information in Settings.

Unfortunately, everytime i try to get into that VS2019 section... i end up having an error :
"Le fichier spécifié est introuvable. (Exception de HRESULT : 0x80070002)"

Or in english
"The specified file is missing. (Exception HRESULT : 0x80070002)"

I tried to get some logs with the Windows Event Viewer but the error is not reported there unfortunately... Thank you for your help.

Are you talking about settings under the project properties?

Yes,

You do a right click on the main form, Properties then you have access to many options... including Settings. ( all other options works except this one which cause the mentionned error )

Try deleting the hidden folder .vs in the solutions directory. It could not hurt to delete the obj folder.

Tried it, still the same error.

Also tried to do a DISM restoreheatlth and no error found.

I run Windows 10 2004 X64

Hi @Anto , does this issue appear for a newly created project, or appear for specific project? Please try to repair Visual Studio.

Hi, it is for a projet i created 3 months ago, but i can get the same error with a new project also... and i can also replicate the problem on a freshly imaged computer.

From what i found online, it seems to be a common problem with VB.net that Microsoft needs to fix :

As for the repair, i also tried full uninstall/reinstall

Hi @Anto , thank you for your feedback. I tested on my side but I failed to reproduce your issue, I also checked the link you shared, looks like this issue appears under specific development environment, I guess, it’s related to .NET Framework 4.8 and VB projects.

I fix the same problem installing this.
My problem was when i tried to use "Xamarin"
