Hi there,

Ysterday it was stil ok ... :(

Now, when I select an object on a whiteboard and select "duplicate" ... simply nothing happens.

Is there any configuration (maybe I did something wrong) that could prevent me from using this function ?

Additional detail : I get the same behavior when using the local client or using Whitebord with Edge.

Thanks for your help !

Jean-Louis

The Ctrl-D now makes 3 new copies. I have to use Ctrl-C Ctrl-V to get only one extra new copy of something.

Its quite annoying as the 3 copies are on top of each other after the Ctrl-D so you do not necessarily notice that you have an excessive amount of copies.

Thanks a lot for your efforts on this. May I ask if after three months, this bug still persists for such a basic feature of the Whiteboard product?

Hello Jean-Louis and everyone experiencing the duplicate function issue,

I came across the same problem where selecting "duplicate" on an object did nothing. I tried different methods like restarting and updating, but nothing worked. However, I’ve found a workaround that might help while Microsoft addresses this issue.

Solution: Instead of using Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V to copy and paste, which seems to be malfunctioning, you can drag and drop images directly into the whiteboard. This method worked successfully for me and might serve as a temporary fix for those needing to duplicate visual elements.

    Steps:

    1. Open the folder where your image or visual element is stored.
    2. Simply click and hold the image, drag it over to the Microsoft Whiteboard, and drop it into place.

This method does not replace the duplicate functionality entirely but can help continue your work with minimal disruption. I hope this helps everyone until a fix is rolled out. Looking forward to hearing if this works for others as well!

    Best regards,
