Microsoft forms - file upload not working

Hello,

I'm getting this error in Microsoft forms when adding a question that requires the user to upload an attachment

  • We weren't able to create an upload file folder in OneDrive for Business. If you see this message repeatedly, contact your administrator.

I can see the folder being created in my one drive Apps folder so I'm not sure what the problem actually is.

Best,

Alice

    Hi Sophia,

Thanks for your quick reply. I have attempted to follow your instructions but it appears to be trying to share my entire drive rather than the one particular folder. I don't want everyone I send the form to to be able to access all the other form responses or attachments.

    Hi Sophia,
it seems I am struggling with blocked file upload when filling in the form as well.
The form owner has shared the Folder Microsoft forms with me but I still can not upload anything anymore.

I could do it before to the owner deleted all files from the folder and the folder is empty now.

    What can we do?

    Dear Alice_Van,

    Thank you for your response.

Instead of sharing the entire Microsoft Forms folder, we recommend sharing only the specific form folder with users. For example, you can share the personal form or untitled form folder as shown in the picture. This way, you can grant permission for only this specific folder to the form recipients, allowing only specified users to upload attachments here.

If you have any additional questions or if you need any additional help regarding this or anything else at all - let me know, I'll be here to help you out.

And in the meantime, I hope you'll have a lovely day ahead, stay safe & take care!

    Yours sincerely,

    Dear Alice_Van,

Thank you for posting your query in our community.

Please don't worry, we will resolve your concern together and move towards a path to resolution.

Based on our research I would like to explain that when the user uploads the file attached to forms it will saved to the forms owner's personal OneDrive. Your personal OneDrive folder doesn’t have permission to the user so this issue will occur. To rectify the issue please grant permission to your personal OneDrive folder.

If you have any additional questions or if you need any additional help regarding this or anything else at all - let me know, I'll be here to help you out.

And in the meantime, I hope you'll have a lovely day ahead, stay safe & take care!

    Yours sincerely,
