Can you change the shape of the callout text box (for line callout 2, 3 or 4 under shapes) to either a rounded rectangle or circle, as opposed to the normal rectangle?

    Dear respected JenrG,

Good day! Welcome to Microsoft Community.

We went through your post carefully and do understand your great idea of changing shapes for the Line callout text box in Word desktop app. We are really sorry to convey that currently there has no out-of-box way to achieve it to switch shapes automatically. There has a option to Edit Points but it won't be a suitable workaround and can be time-consuming.

However, I agree that it will be more user-friendly for some users and editors requiring developed callout box selections to enhance the document better to collaborate together. Given this situation, I sincerely recommend you use Feedback Community to suggest this feature limitation and add your valuable idea in the **** Word · Feedback Community (microsoft.com) which is the best place to share ideas directly with the product building team and improve the Microsoft Products.

Feedback submit by this way directly goes to the related team. This is the best way to let Word development team aware of this situation and also know your requirements, your valuable ideas and suggestions will help improve the product and make it better for every user.

Otherwise, we also sincerely recommend you give it a try to post in Microsoft Q&A Community, which is the specific channel to handle some developed demand with Word and all Office products. You may use Office-dev tag when " Ask a question". The engineers in related team will focus on your specific scenario and provide developed workarounds like VBA commands.

I appreciate your time and effort on checking these above and thank you for your time and cooperation.

I hope that you are keeping safe and well.

    Sincerely,

    Mia | Microsoft Community Moderator
