How to save a ppt file with linked images such that image will not get updated?

I was able to insert and link an image in Power Point such that the image gets updated each time the image is refreshed as per article Link and update image in PPT.

(in short, Power Point Insert > Picture > This Device > Select image and in dropdown select "Insert and Link")

However, is there a way to disable the image from being updated when a particular image updated is wanted in the Power Point to generate a static report? Is there a way to "Save As" the Power Point as another file with the link in the image to be disabled?

Hello, WKN_888

Welcome to Microsoft Community.

To save a PowerPoint file with linked images such that the images will not get updated, you can break the links to the images:

  1. Open your PowerPoint presentation.
  2. Go to the "File" tab and select "Info".
  3. Under Related Documents, click on "Edit Links to Files".
  4. Select the image links you want to break.
  5. Click "Break Link". This will convert the linked images to embedded images, preventing them from updating when the source files change.
  6. Save your presentation with a new name using "Save As" to keep the original file intact.
