    Dear les tomma,

Good day! hope you are doing well.

I apologize for the delay; I was researching possible workarounds for your issue. If you have already checked the recycle bin for your personal and work accounts in OneDrive or SharePoint, depending on where you saved your OneNote notebook, then this will require more resources and expertise than our forum team currently possesses. Therefore, I sincerely recommend that you create a support ticket with Microsoft Support directly as soon as possible by following the steps from this link: Get support - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn

If you are not an admin, you can contact your admin to contact Microsoft support. You can look for the way to find your admin through this link: How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support

Please accept my sincere apologies for not being able to resolve the problem and for redirecting you to the related development team. I regret any inconvenience this may cause. The fix to your concern can be identified through the backend and help you with the data restoration, and I suggest you raise a support ticket from the Office 365 admin center, where the related team will investigate the problem further by running back diagnostics.

Once again, I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. We appreciate your patience and understanding and thank you for your time and cooperation.

    Sincerely,

Ralph Chawatama | Microsoft Community Moderator

Hi - thanks for quick reply. My notebook is still empty even through the link you provided and trying on my desktop.I have logged into both my personal and my work account and there is no Notebook (it’s showing as empty).I do not have my old device as it was traded in so was wiped instore after the data transfer. As far as I’m aware I have backed up all my apps every night with iCloud.I have had several devices previously and have never had this problem.Apple was concerned that as I started the new phone downloads instore, then came home, I went “off WiFi” so it may have crashed. They have advised to speak to you first before erasing and resetting as this may or may not lose the notebook completely.

On a further note, I see that my last cloud back up was actually the night before I purchased this new handset and there’s been no back-ups since then.

I’ve looked at the OneNote app in my data storage and it does confirm that there is definitely data on there.

    N

    OneNote

    16.91.1

    Microsoft Corporation

    App Size

    Documents & Data

    212.6 MB

    36.7 MB

I just feel that if I do the last cloud back up from Saturday to my new phone I bought on Sunday - that the notes will re-appear.

But if you think this is wrong, please let me know! Kind regardsLes

    Dear les tomma,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

We are sorry to hear that you’re having trouble with your notebook which is now empty after you transferred data to your new iPhone. I deeply understand the inconvenience caused and apologize for it.

We appreciate your understanding that sometimes the initial response may not resolve the problem immediately. However, we can work together to narrow down and resolve the situation. So, for further troubleshooting, could you please provide the information below:

    1. Could you please let me know if you can see your notes by signing in to OneNote Online with the same Microsoft account you use on your notebook?
    2. Could you please let me know if you have opened the OneNote app on your new iPhone and ensured you're signed in with the correct Microsoft account?
    3. May I know if you still have your old device and if the notes are still there? If they are, you can manually sync them to the cloud.
    4. Could you please let me know if you used iCloud for backups and if OneNote was included in the backup?

Once again, I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. We appreciate your patience and understanding and thank you for your time and cooperation.

    Sincerely,

Ralph Chawatama | Microsoft Community Moderator
