Sticky Notes for Android

Hopefully I'm in the right area to ask this question. I am a home user and I find Sticky Notes very convenient. I just discovered that it is nowhere to be found on my Android Tablet (Galaxy Tab A8 running Android 14). It's on my Windows laptop - recently and briefly it was inserted into Outlook but now I see it's a separate app again - and on my Android phone, a Galaxy S9 running Android 10. On the phone it's integrated into OneNote. On the tablet it's not part of Outlook or OneNote (the OneNote app on my tablet looks completely different from the one on my phone, btw) and it's not a discrete app. I need to access Sticky Notes on my tablet, so what's going on here?

    Hi Pan Demic,

    Thanks for visiting Microsoft Community.

There are two ways to get your Sticky Notes on Android:

    • Within OneNote Open OneNote, and all your Sticky Notes appear on Homepage. Go to Filter options and select Sticky Notes to get a Sticky Notes only view.
    • On the Microsoft Launcher You can also quickly access your sticky notes without OneNote if you're using Microsoft Launcher as a custom Home screen for your Android phone. From the Launcher Home screen, slide from the left edge to see your feed, then flick down and tap Customize feed to add cards. Flick down again and turn on Sticky Notes to add to your feed.

Click on this link to learn more about where else you can see your Sticky Notes.

This seems to be the answer. It's annoying as sticky notes is a great and simple note taking app. Making it difficult to access on mobile defeats the purpose of using it.

I'm having the same problem on my Galaxy Fold4, either with the screen opened or closed. There is no Sticky Notes button and there is no way to filter for Sticky Notes. I also use the Microsoft Launcher and while my Sticky Notes appear there, they haven't been syncing since the New Sticky Notes app was launched, nor can I get the New Sticky Notes app in the Launcher.

Hi, and thanks for the reply. In-re the first bullet point, yes, that's exactly what I see on OneNote on my Android phone (Galaxy S9, Android 10). However, OneNote on my tablet (Galaxy Tab, Android 14), looks completely different, and doesn't show a Sticky Note icon - as a matter of fact, the OneNote app on the tablet looks just like OneNote on my Windows laptop. I checked, and the version numbers for both OneNote apps on my phone and tablet are the same - 16.0.17928.20098. Why are they formatted differently on the phone and tablet but show the same version number? I would very much like OneNote on the tablet to mirror the layout of OneNote on the phone, particularly so that I can access Sticky Notes on the tablet. Hmmm.

OneNote is a mess..try Microsoft 365, as container it also has got Notes. Of course I keep on dreaming an android stand alone app...unless Microsoft will kill Notes completely...
