MS365 Excel and Word Color Theme Palate RGB Settings are different. Why?

My MS365 subscription is current. I have files and in Excel and Word that are part of a project where I utilize the Theme Colors Palate to highlight a number of different elements in the project.

These Theme Colors Palates used in both Excel and Word look identical. What I discovered, since the same colors look different between the apps, is that the RGB settings do not match.

This is a sample of the differences in the Color Theme settings.

Excel Orange, Accent 2, Lighter 40% 244.176.132
Word Orange, Accent 2, Lighter 40% 237.125.29

How can I correct this differences? If I need to create a custom color palate for both apps, which I have unsuccessful in trying to figure out how to do it, just how do I create matching custom color palates?

    Thank you Hans,

FYI, I'm using a MacBook Air which shouldn't make any difference.

The color palate setting in the Word Design Tab is Office 2013-2022 and the color palate layout between Word and Excel looks identical, so I am assuming the color palate in Excel is Office 2013-2022 as well. I don't know how to change the color palate in Excel.

I also used the same color drop down selection in both apps - Orange, Accent 2, Lighter 40%.

When I look at the RGB settings for Orange, Accent 2, Lighter 40% in Word is Red = 237, Green = 125, and Blue - 29. In Excel, the RGB settings for Orange, Accent 2, Lighter 40% in Excel is Red = 244, Green = 176, and Blue - 132.

What happens if you select the same color theme in the Word document and Excel workbook?

In Word: Design tab of the ribbon, Colors drop-down

In Excel: Page Layout tab of the ribbon, Colors drop-down.

Here is the one from Word:
