"Unable to set the visible property of the worksheet class."

I have several sheets in a workbook at xlSheetVeryHidden status and I'm not able to reset them to xlSheetVisible. Someone else's thread on this subject was locked before I could point out that my workbook is NOT protected.

What could be causing this?

Also, just to be sure, remember that the Protect Workbook button does not change caption if the workbook is protected, unlike the Protect Worksheet button. The only visible difference is that it is highlighted if the workbook is protected, as below:

If the worksheet at Very Hidden status was sheet-protected when it was hidden, could that cause this problem? I'm somewhat confident I've done that at some point across my 27 years of Excel use, but I've never experienced this problem before.

    Derek,

I have over 30 years of experience in Excel.

If you are 100% sure that the workbook is not protected in any way and a simple worksheet can not be made visible, then IMHO there is nothing what can cause that issue.

On the other hand, over the years I have seen many oddities and circumstances where symptoms suddenly appear that have nothing to do with the actual command.

Upload the file into my Dropbox, maybe I'm able to find the root cause of this issue. https://www.dropbox.com/request/1st1xoAVyqLOgheTTb6m

Is sending you my file the only way to handle this? It's full of proprietary information.

    my workbook is NOT protected.

In this case... IMHO nothing. We need to see your (sample) file.
