    Hi, chelle99

In Microsoft 365, comparing the visual size of fonts at the same font size is usually determined by the design of the font. General:

Some fonts such as Arial Narrow or other compactly designed fonts usually appear smaller at the same size.

Fonts such as Impact or Arial Black and some decorative fonts usually appear larger at the same size.

These differences stem from the letter widths, letter heights, and overall design style of the fonts. Specific minimum and maximum fonts may vary depending on updates and font libraries. For an accurate comparison, you can type the same size text in a text editor and make a visual observation or use some specialized software to take measurements.

I hope the above information can help you. Feel free to send a message if you need further help.

    Best wishes

    Hi, chelle99

Thank you for using Microsoft products and posting them to the community.

In Microsoft 365, fonts are divided into two categories: local fonts and cloud fonts.

Local fonts: These fonts are installed with the operating system and usually include common fonts such as Arial, Times New Roman, Calibri, etc. The specific font list may vary depending on the operating system version. For example, the font list for Windows 11 can be viewed in the official Microsoft documentation.

Cloud fonts: Fonts hosted in the cloud by Microsoft 365 and available in the latest versions of Office applications. Once downloaded, these fonts are available across all Office applications. Documents created with cloud fonts will look the same when opened on other devices.

Regarding the difference between fonts at the same font size, different fonts may present different visual effects at the same font size, which is due to the design characteristics of each font. For example, factors such as the font's x-height (the height of lowercase letters), letter width, letter spacing, etc. will affect its actual display effect at the same font size. This means that even if the same font size is set, different fonts may appear to be different sizes.

I hope the above information can help you. Feel free to send a message if you need further help.

    Best wishes
