Where can I find the conditional access policy assigned to me? I never knew I had one.

After months of trying to find assistance, I was finally able to get set up as the Global Administrator for my nonprofit's 365 business account with MS help. However, when I try to access our licenses, I receive this message, "Your sign-in was successful, but it doesn't meet the conditional access policy assigned to you. Contact your administrator if you need access." I work for a small organization, I am NOT an IT professional, and I am just trying to assign/reassign our free nonprofit 365 licenses. We have no other IT team. I thought I was told that becoming the global administrator would give me full access to our business account. What can I do now?

Many thanks for your kind response,

Since Conditional access option is not listed in your Microsoft Entra admin center either this specific account assigned license doesn't include conditional access plan or there is a problem from the back end. Therefore, I sincerely recommend you contact our dedicated online support technical team via your Microsoft Entra admin center. Since we are belong to Microsoft community site, we have limited resource and privilege to examine back end related scenarios. So that, as the support engineers over there have more resource and privilege, they will check the issue from the backend side and will assist you with possible solution. To create a support request, you can just sign in to your Microsoft Entra admin center -->Select Learn & support -->New support request.

Thank you for your precious time and kind understanding. Have a nice day.

    Sincerely,

Thank you for your reply. When I click on Protection, there are three options: 1) Authentication methods; 2) Password reset; 3) Custom security attributes. I do not see the option for Conditional Access that you show above.

    Dear leap leapforlocalfood.org,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are facing some issue with the conditional access policy assigned to your account. As a Global Administrator, you should have full access to manage your organization's settings, but it seems that a conditional access policy is restricting your access. Therefore, to find the conditional access policy assigned to your account, Follow the steps below and check if any conditional access policy is assigned.

    • Sign in to the Microsoft Entra Admin center portal as a Global Administrator(https://entra.microsoft.com/).
    • Browse to Protection > Conditional Access > Policies. Here, you can view and manage the conditional access policies that are applied to your account. Look for any policies that might be affecting your access. Conditional access policies are if-then statements that control access based on specific conditions. For example, a policy might require multifactor authentication or a compliant device.

If the issue still persists, could you please provide us with the screenshot of the error message you are getting?

I look forward to your update. Please feel free to let me know how it goes or if I got you wrong. If you still have any concerns, please let me know so I can provide more suggestions.

Thank you for your precious time. Have a nice day.

    Sincerely,
