I Seriously HATE SharePoint!

I used to love SharePoint, but the changes are horrible. I’ll never understand “upgrading” a system, but taking away features that were useful and convenient to users.

Who’s idea was it to allow people to be Site Owners, but not truly give them FULL CONTROL over THEIR site! And who came up with the genius idea to provide such limited and HIDEOUS color palettes?! It’s annoying AF that I can’t customize items in Calendar View. Allowing me to choose from **** Brown or **** Green is NOT CUSTOMIZING! I should be able to put whatever color code I want in a JSON file! I shouldn’t have to upload a freaking color theme in the theme gallery, BUT if that’s what’s required to give myself actual COLOR CHOICES, then I should be able to do it as a Site Owner!

I hate this product. Complete trash.

I agree completely. It is an example on a complacent monopoly that is out of touch with users.

Microsoft stopped upgrading products in 2003. Now they only update stuff. There are no more increases in grade or quality, only increases in version number.

The idea of converting the entire platform over to a "mobile friendly" UX shows Microsoft doesn't know how most people need to interact with SharePoint. I submit the vast majority of users don't expect to regularly consume, create or edit SharePoint information on their phones - that's not the primary use case.

The SPO default forms are AWFUL - forces you to use MS Forms just to make them usable. The list display is terrible - tons of wasted white space that forces the desktop user to endlessly scroll left/right, up/down just as if they were on a phone. Just a really ugly look - a step down across the board.

Hold onto SharePoint 2016 as long as you can is my advice.
