Choosing the "In line with text" option as Stefan suggests is best, because it's more stable than any of the "floating" options. However, if your design calls for wrapping text around the image, one of the floating options is required. In that case, if you just don't want to see the anchor, go to File > Options > Display and clear the check box for "Object anchors".

If you have trouble with floating images moving to the wrong place on the page, though, it's often important for troubleshooting to be able to see which text paragraph contains the anchor location.

To get rid of the anchor and prevent the object from being movable on the page, choose the "In line with text" option for text wrapping.

"In line with text" means that the object is treated as a (large) text character, that is, it will be part of the regular text flow.

For troubleshooting, go to the Options dialog and check the box to show the anchors temporarily.

You can use the mouse to drag an anchor from one paragraph to another, if the "Lock anchor" box in the Layout dialog is not checked. This is especially useful if two or more images are anchored to the same paragraph, which can make the numbers in the captions be out of order. You can fix that by moving the anchors to separate paragraphs in the correct order.

When you finish troubleshooting, clear the check box in the Options dialog.
