    Hi Chika,

Yes, you can e-sign a Word file in desktop Word for Windows. (I'll have to leave it to our Mac experts to say whether it's also available and what the process is.)

The start of the procedure is to click File > Info > Protect Document > Add a Digital Singature.

That leads to the following dialog.

In articles on the Internet, this type of signature is often called an "invisible digital signature" to distinguish it from the signature line type that Mia described, which is confusingly called a "digital signature" (of course, everything in Word is digital).

For illustrated steps and a video, see Add an Invisible Digital Signature To a Microsoft Word Document .

    Hi CHIKA TOURE,

To e-sign a document in Microsoft 365 Word, you can use the built-in features or third-party add-ins like DocuSign or HelloSign from Add-ins Store. For ssing the Built-in Signature Line, please refer to: Add or remove a digital signature for Microsoft 365 files - Microsoft Support

    1. Open your Word document.
    2. Place the cursor where you want the signature line to appear.
    3. Go to the Insert tab on the ribbon.
    4. Click on Signature Line in the Text group.
    5. Fill in the details in the Signature Setup box and click OK.
    6. A signature line will appear in your document. You can double-click it to add your signature.

Please correct me if I made any misunderstanding or if there have anything else I can do for you.

Your patience is highly appreciated. Hope you a nice day and stay safe!

    Best Regards,

    Mia
