Azure AD .. how to recover BitLocker key from deleted device by errors during W11 & O365 update

Hello

During the upgrade of W11 or O365, the user came back to me that he cannot use O365 because the organization's account is not connected and O365 informs about the lack of a license.

When I tried to connect O365 to the organization's account, I got a message that another organization's account was already connected to 0365.

According to the recommendations, I launched the o365 repair tool, which resulted in the appearance of a bluescreen and a restart of the computer. After restarting the computer, the W11 repair tool is called, unfortunately, the BitLocker key that was removed with the Device from AZ AD is required to run the repair.

How to recover BitLocker key data from AZ AD?

    Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Q&A.

    Currently, only restoring deleted Group and Application objects is supported. When a group or an application is deleted it is initially soft deleted and can be recovered during the first 30 days after deletion.

    However if the device has been recently deleted (not hard removed), You may try to recover the key by

    • Navigating to https://account.microsoft.com/devices/recoverykey
    • Sign-in with impacted UPN with which device was joined or registered.
    • Look for the device name and hit view Bitlocker recovery key. User's image
    • Once recovered the device must be disabled from this page and should be rejoined/registered to Azure AD
    • If this does not help then you may approach our support to confirm the possibility.
