Defender Endpoint P2 Device Edu subscription Vs Regular P2 License?

Hello Everybody,

I work for a school district, and we utilize Microsoft Defender for Endpoint Plan 2 License. We utilize the Plan 2 license for both our staff and student machines.

A couple days ago, it came to my attention that we now have access to "Plan 2 Education License"

I see that we can assign a group or users to the Plan 2 Education License.

My question is, is there an actual advantage or difference with using the P2 Education License Vs the Regular P2 License? Especially since this will be utilizing it in an educational environment, I am interested in knowing if there is an actual benefit to with the Education License.

I tried to research to see if there is any substantial difference but most of the differences, I see are cost related and not really anything in terms of offering additional tools targeted for education environments, however, I may be wrong.

Please let me know, I am really curious.

Thanks :D

I'm not having any issues with Defender, just curious on how the licenses work.
