Why can't I create a presentation from a file with copilot?

Copilot will not allow me to create a presentation from a file. I have a personal 365 account with copilot running in powerpoint. All my files are in onedrive.

I get this message every time:

"This file may be in another location, deleted, or not exist. Please make sure this file is on your organization's SharePoint. You may be able to fix this error by uploading the file to SharePoint and try again with the link to the uploaded file.

In addition, when I do try to pick a file, it only allows me to pick 2-3 files I recently used and I can't search, browse to other files.

Does this functionality even work? I am so frustrated because there is not messaging and a post in the community said this functionality was not even working. Why promote it? Why sell a license for copilot?

Please help - Greg

I understand your reply, but given your answer, I'm confused why the very first recommendation for all users (including those who can't use the feature) is 'Create a presentation from [file]'. Is our time not valuable enough to warrant a rule that would suppress this recommendation and add a note explaining the situation? Instead, I spent 10 minutes troubleshooting what I thought was a problem on my end. Only after multiple Google searches did I find out the feature wasn't available to me.

why then does this automatically send you there and allows you to create a document and then not allow us to access the document. I created a powerpoint as well and am now not allowed to access? This is very bad.

After taking a lunch for about an hour after making my first post. I came back to my Mac and tried it again without changing anything.

All of a sudden, its working and generating a presentation. Not a good resolution.

    🤷‍♂️
