    Hello,Ewa Kozlowski

    Welcome to the Microsoft community!

    I have realized that your Excel is not working.

    What is your current computer's CPU model and how much RAM do you have?

    The frozen state is when Excel suddenly becomes inoperable and then turns white is it?

    If you are convenient, could you please provide this information to us ? So that I could give proper advice and solutions.

    You can try the following reset operations separately for the Excel software itself. Note that this will disable your add-ins and customizations and you will need to reset them afterwards!

    1. Cancel add-ons

    Click on the document in the upper left corner of the file - Options - Add-ons - COM Add-ons Change Place to Manage, then select "Move", uncheck all add-ins, click OK, restart the Excel document and see the effect.

    1. Delete Excel templates

    Make sure there are no files in the following folders:

    1. Locate to C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART and press enter to see if the file exists, if it does, delete it, if not, close it;
    2. Locate to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\XLSTART or C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\XLSTART to see if the file exists, if it does , again please delete it, if not, close it;
    1. Registry Reset Office

    Press Windows + R and type regedit in the Open Run box and press Enter.

    Locate the following key and rename the Office folder (right-click it and select Rename (for example, Office will be renamed Officeold)):

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office

    Then open the Excel document again to try the effect.

    4. Disable the graphics card driver

    Right-click on the Start icon in the lower left corner---Device Manager---Display Adapters---Find the graphics card driver, right-click to disable it.

    Find your current graphics card driver, if you have a discrete graphics card it will show two drivers.

    Usually there are three kinds of drivers: Intel, AMD and Nvidia.

    If there are two drivers, you can right-click to disable the first driver (CPU Core).

    Then you try opening Excel again.

    I have a similar problem. In Windows 11, my Office 2019 Excel files flash a black band or whole screen goes black when I make changes to cells. The black bands go away after a few seconds. Also, the latest aberration is that the characters on the whole screen look blurred for a few seconds. computer is Acer all in one.
