Return people in Sharepoint search results above pages and documents when only part of a name has been provided

We have a classic sharepoint site running in a Sharepoint subscription edition farm.

Our site collection uses the Sharepoint search results web part and currently returns all results including people search results from UPS.

If we search the full name of a person (excat match) it will return that person result above documents and pages that person has published or that contain that person's name.

If only a part name search is done (eg first or last name only) the user is not returned at all. Documents or web pages that contain their partial name will be returned.

What we are wondering is if it is possible (with a query rule perhaps) to get Sharepoint to return all people results that are a partial match AHEAD of the documents, pages, site etc.

TIA! 🙏

    Hi @clarky000 ,

It is recommended you try to use Wildcard: Multiple Character Searching.

Or you can try to configure properties of the search results web part:
