Processes in Microsoft 365 for setting up Office apps, redeeming product keys, and activating licenses.
Hello, Erin-D
Welcome to Microsoft Community.
It sounds like you're experiencing an unusual issue with "Office Plus" repeatedly attempting to install when you open Office 2019. Here’s a breakdown of what might be happening and steps to address the issue:
1-> What Is "Office Plus"?
- Office Plus is a product launched by the Microsoft China team two years ago. It mainly does not have client software/plug-ins. It mainly provides users with Office templates, such as PowerPoint templates, through the web version. Please see the website below (Mainly in Chinese): https://www.officeplus.cn/
- Office Plus does not use Microsoft Account, but is based on the Microsoft Document applet, which is also the work of the Microsoft China team, so users need to re-register an account with their mobile phone number when using it. Office Plus can be installed only when the region set by the system is China. If it is in other countries or regions, it will prompt that it is not supported.
2-> Why Is This Happening?
If your region is in China, or the language pack of the Microsoft suite you downloaded from account.microsoft.com is Chinese. This issue may be caused as shown in the picture:
If you need to uninstall this software separately, please refer to:
- Press Windows+R > Type: control.exe > Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features (or Apps & Features on Windows 10/11).
- Look for "Office Plus" or any unfamiliar software related to Microsoft Office and uninstall it if it seems suspicious.
- Open Control Panel > Programs and Features.
- Select Microsoft Office 2019.
- Click on Change and choose Quick Repair. If the issue persists, try the Online Repair option.
If it was not installed intentionally, follow similar steps as above to disable or remove it. Genuine Microsoft Office updates do not introduce viruses. let me know if you need further assistance! You can share a screenshot of specific prompts or error codes with me so I can get a more visual idea of what you're currently experiencing.
