    Just happened to me.

Full recreation of user profile was not needed for me, I only needed to right click "Microsoft 365 (Office)" app on search, then App Settings.

Then use the "Reset" button under the "Reset" section. Open the "Microsoft 365 (Office)" application and login again.

Someone who knows what they are talking about!!! A simply reset of the App makes it work and not a 57 step guide to creating accounts and copying files etc etc

This is the correct answer, not creating new logins when Office corrupts app data. Why couldn't a "Support Specialist" give this answer?

Hello Muhammad Zakaa Shahzada,   Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are currently encountering error 1001 while using Office. Based on this error message, it appears to be related to an issue with the account on your device. Sometimes, a corrupted user account profile can cause such problems. You can try creating a new local account and check if the issue is resolved in the new user account.

    • Press Windows + S, search for cmd, and run the Command Prompt as an administrator.
    • Enter and run the following two commands separately:
        net user User /add

        net localgroup administrators User /add

    • Replace User with the username for the new account. You can choose any name you like, but it's recommended to use English.
    • After completing this, click on the user icon in the Start menu and switch users. You may see a setup guide; complete it to enter the system.

Alternatively, refer to this article: Manage user accounts in Windows - Microsoft Support

If the issue is resolved in the new account, you can continue using your computer in the new account environment. To transfer your files from the old account to the new account, you can copy and paste the user folder. Refer to this article:
