How to download and install Microsoft Office 2021 Professional Plus on my PC,

I googled this question and found a locked thread in here that really didn't answer the question, but I did follow some of the suggestions and got my Office 2021 Professional Plus downloaded and activated. First here is the older thread: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/how-to-download-and-install-microsoft-office-2021/17858869-363c-489f-b958-7a28003e766c My solution was to go to my Microsoft Account and although it features the new Microsoft Office 365 and seemingly only 365 if you hunt around long enough you will actually find any older Office software you have bought from MSFT. Once I did find the two copies of Microsoft Office 2021 Professional Plus that I had bought in Summer of 2022 and Fall of 2022, I was offered a choice to download and install either from the Microsoft Account website. I picked the copy that was on my old discarded PC box and downloaded it. The downloaded file came pretty quickly but the actual installation took quite some time but it did happen. At that point I was asked to activate it, which might have been done with a product key, but the steps I followed simply had me logging into my Microsoft account and that alone was enough to activate the download. So it is possible but only if you have the actual purchase in your Microsoft account. I think in the older thread the OP had bought a key from someone other than Microsoft so couldn't access a proper download of the software.

Also a lot of the helpful community commentators were all certain that an individual could not have the Pro Plus version. But both of mine are the Professional Plus versions. So apparently they are not solely for large institutions. Although it is possible my purchases were from the Enterprise software employee sharing agreement where employees of a large company that uses Microsoft Office were allowed to buy discounted versions of Microsoft software that their companies used. Here is a screen shot from my account:

Hopefully this helps someone else looking for how to resurrect an old Microsoft purchase after a PC disaster occurs.

Hi, Microsoft never sold Office Professional Plus 2021, the last Pro Plus Microsoft sold was Office Professional Plus 2019, most used by HUP companies and their employees. Office Professional Plus 2021 sold on the internet at knockdown prices is illicit. Office Professional 2021, which I have cost over £400 in UK, same number of Apps. Have you ever wondered why you are not provided with the Plus bit of the Office? Anyhow, your Office Pro Plus may work for a long time or a short time, some don't work at all. Still you may get your monies worth at $30-$40.

PS: the next volume Office Pro Plus was Office LTSC Professional Plus 2021. This also is being sold illicitly on the internet.

All recent Office products are associated with Microsoft accounts, so that doesn't provide any clues. You may still have been scammed by a third-party reseller, I'm afraid.

As you can see from my account snapshot I bought both of these pieces of software through my Microsoft account in 2022 and bought them as standalone products.

There used to be a few ways to get Office Professional Plus 2021 from Microsoft. If I remember correctly, that version (along with many other non-subscription products, including older versions of Office) was included in some MSDN subscription packages (and/or possibly in some Visual Studio subscription packages). Getting Office as part of such a subscription wasn't cheap, though.

I don't remember the details, but I do know that Office MVPs were offered some of those subscriptions quite some time ago.
