I am used to Word opening documents in Viewing mode by default. Now it's opening them in Editing mode by default. That is dangerous when working with client business requirements documents from One Drive, especially since anything we do in them with Auto Save turned on might cause all sorts of issues considering there are no tracked changes while in Editing mode.

    Hi, Gajapathi D

Maybe you can choose to open it directly through the desktop Word.

In Word, you can set the default opening mode. Open the Word application, click the "File" menu, and then select "Options". In the "Options" window, select "Trust Center", and then click "Trust Center Settings". In the "Trust Center" window, select "File Organization Settings", select "Word 2007 or later documents or templates", and at the bottom select "Open selected file types in 'Protected View'".

In this way, the relevant documents will be opened in view mode by default.

Please feel free to let me know how it goes.
