I just bought MS Office 2024 from MS Store. Installed it (on Mac) from my account 'Products you have purchased', but the apps (Word, Excel etc.) show up as preview version. Where do I enter the product key?

About your situation, it's possible that the license wasn't recognized. You can first sign in https://account.microsoft.com/servicesand confirm the product subscription status is normal. If so, it must be the license identification issues.

You can follow the steps below.

I recommend that you first use the Office License Removal Tool to update your license:

Download the license removal tool.
Open the pkg file in your Mac's Downloads folder.

3. Select Continue and follow the prompts in the setup wizard.

If you want to start removing the licenses, select Install. You may need to enter the password for your Mac's local administrator account.

When the licensing tool is complete, select Close.

Now open an Office app and sign in to activate with the email account associated with your Microsoft 365 for Mac license. If you're working on troubleshooting, you might need to reinstall Office before you sign in.

Once you have activated the product, restart the computer and you should get back to work.

I've also tried installing Office from my account, where I get this message:

Open a productivity app like Excel or PowerPoint and sign in with your account to activate. Added to your account on 11 January 2025

I've now re-installed MS office onto the Macbook Air, but I haven't had any success. In attempting the first method, I got the following message:

How can I install Office?

If you already redeemed this product key, sign in to Microsoft account dashboard with the account used to redeem it and install or reinstall Office.

I then did as the message says and re-installed MS Office by signing into my MS account and re-installed Office. Unfortunately, the apps still say that I have the preview version.

I'll now try everything again and report back.
