    Hi Malky Roth

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I realize that you've encountered a problem with " PPT background music ", and I understand how you feel. Don't worry, I'll do my best to help you.

Based on your description, you can set background music to play during the pictures in PowerPoint and stop when there is a video by following these steps:

    1. Insert Background Music:
      • Open your PowerPoint presentation.
      • Go to the Insert tab and select Audio > Audio on My PC.
      • Choose the audio file you want as background music, and then click Insert.
    2. Set Music Playback Options:
      • Select the inserted audio icon, and go to the Playback tab.
      • In the Audio Options group, select Play in Background. This will make the music play continuously across slides.
    3. Set Music to Stop Playing:
      • Select the inserted audio icon and go to the Animations tab.
      • In the Advanced Animation group, click Animation Pane. In the Animation Pane, right-click the audio animation and click Effect Options.
      • In the Stop Playing section, select After () slides. Set the number of slides so that the music stops before the video slide.
    4. Insert Video and Set Playback Options:
      • Click the slide where you want to insert the video, go to the Insert tab, and select Video > Video on My PC.
      • Choose the video file you want to insert, and then click Insert.
      • Select the inserted video, and go to the Playback tab.
      • In the Video Options group, ensure Automatically or On Click is selected based on your preference.
    5. Resume Background Music:
      • On the slide after the video ends, copy or reinsert the same background music file.
      • Select the inserted audio icon and go to the Playback tab.
      • In the Audio Options group, select Automatically.
      • In the Effect Options, set the audio to start playing from the current slide and stop at the end of the last slide.

By following these steps, you can achieve the effect of playing background music during the pictures in PowerPoint, stopping the music when there is a video, and resuming the music after the video ends.

I hope these suggestions have been helpful to you!

Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions or need any further help.

    Best regards
