The questions says it all. My PC is older, had to rebuilt 3 years ago when I moved, doesn't have TPM 2.0 or the possibility of adding a module to the MB. I use 365 in my work everyday in my work as a freelancer, it is supplied to me by the school I work with, so if it stop functioning in October I will be unable to work. Do I have to buy a whole new PC??? What can I do, as I haven't got a spare cash just lying around waiting to be spent on a replacing a computer that works perfectly fine?

    Dear Christopher Posey,

    Thank you for reaching out.

According to my knowledge TPM is not a module and cannot use module to change the settings. TPM part of the computer BIOS this cannot be modified with a module. This have to updated by the computer manufacture.

Your concern is valid, as Microsoft has announced that some older devices without TPM 2.0 will not officially support Windows 11. However, Office 365 will continue to function on devices running supported operating systems like Windows 10, which is supported until October 14, 2025.

We have a couple of workarounds that might help you:

    Workaround 1

Windows 10 is still supported and receives security updates until 2025. As long as your PC runs Windows 10, you can continue using Office 365 without any issues.

    Workaround 2

Use third-party tools to bypass TPM 2.0 requirements.

You can create a bootable USB drive with a modified UEFI to skip TPM 2.0 and install the latest version of Windows. Please note that this method is not officially supported and may lead to potential risks.

    Workaround 3

Use Office 365 applications on the web.

Office 365 apps can be accessed through a web browser, allowing you to use them regardless of your operating system's compatibility.

Win8.1 went out of support Jan 2023 with then no further updates of any type

Win10 goes out of support 2025

TPM 2.0 relates to win 11 system requirements
