Hello,

When I create a Team site(group site) and create a tasks list then 'Assigned To' column's allow multiple is selected and it allows for multiple users to be selected.

Now if I update the 'Assigned To' site column's description (with 'Update all list columns based on this site column?' to No).

then if I again create a tasks list then for 'Assigned To' column's allow multiple is not selected and it does not allow multiple users to be selected, it gives following error- 'You can only enter one name.'.

Why is such different behavior?

Thanks in advance!

Yuvraj.

Setting "Update all list columns based on this site column?" to "No" indicates that the "Assigned To" column in the previously created lists will not be updated. If this column is applied into lists created after, the column is set according to your latest site column settings.
