Section Break is ruining my document- how do I delete it without it changing the entire format of my doc?

I am editing my CV, that has been copied from an older version. The section break (continuous) starts from the first page, and ends on the second (last page) but because its continuous it creates a blank 3rd page that I cannot get rid of.

I deleted the section break , but then it total messes up the format of the header on the first page- and I cant see how to edit that header, each time I try nothing happens. I have deleted all formation marks, its just this annoying section break that I cant seem to change! I have even copied and pasted this into Google Docs, and it does the same thing and I cant get rid of it at all. Please help, driving me mad!

Removing a section break from the end of a document without changing section properties (including headers and footers) takes some extra steps. The procedure is given in this article: https://wordmvp.com/FAQs/Formatting/WorkWithSections.htm
