One Drive Causing Settings Issues - Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6

I had just started playing BO6 (through steam) about a week ago. There is this constant problem in which my settings are set to default as if I had just launched the game for the first time. One Drive says high service activity but this is constant every time I boot my PC. I'd rather not have to stop syncing my files as I am unable to stop syncing my COD folder because of the syncing issue. I find it odd that One Drive is conflicting with a AAA game. any insight is appreciated, thanks.

Okay so everyone agrees it's one drives problem. And Microsoft owns call of duty, so when the heck Microsoft going to fix this issue?

It's nice to get these replies that everyone is acknowledging the problem. But I don't see a fix. Where's the fix microsoft? It's a hassle to keep resetting your settings! Fix your game or give me my money back!

Thanks, I figured that out as well. But the real problem is, I shouldn't have to do this. Microsoft OWNS Activision now, and COD is their biggest draw...Why is Microsoft follow-through always...ALWAYS... so crappy? FIX THIS ISSUE WITH THE GAME MICROSOFT, SO THE GAME RUNS AS INTENDED!

    Hello,

Me and my friends experiencing exactly the same issue as described above. We launch Black Ops 6 through Battle.net and not through Steam.

We worked around the issue by creating a symbolic link for "C:\Users\username\OneDrive\Documents\Call of Duty" directing to a folder location which isn't synced by Onedrive. It solves the BO6 reset issue but it prevents OneDrive from syncing any files at all which is very annnoying. Please fix this, it's been bugging us since launch on 25 Oct!

This has been reported in the past. Turning off the OneDrive synchronization seems to be the only workaround provided; see https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/one-drive-causing-issues-with-game-files/488b3d0d-f12f-4ded-8257-007f0d37e0c4.

If the affected games allow you to move their configuration files, maybe you could choose to put those files in a folder which is not being synchronized. I am not a gamer myself, so I haven't tested this. Support for the individual games may provide further assistance.
