Hi,

When I edit a hyperlink in the Display box the Reference automatically changes in some worksheets and some it doesn't. How to make all the sheets change?

Thanks,

RoGirl

    Hi, RoGirl

Maybe your file has a lot of data or you have a lot of conditional rules in your file that are affecting the hyperlinks.

Glad to hear you found a solution! Renaming the top to “last line” is a sensible solution to avoid constantly changing the reference number.

If you encounter any more issues or need further assistance, feel free to reach out. I'm here to help!

    Hi, RoGirl

Thank you for using Microsoft products and posting them to the community.

In Excel, when you edit the display text of a hyperlink, whether or not the hyperlink's own reference is automatically updated depends on how you operate and the settings in the worksheet.

    1. Confirm whether you are editing the display text of the hyperlink or the hyperlink reference display text: only change the display text (the display content of the hyperlink), will not affect the hyperlink reference address. Hyperlink reference: To change the actual address of the hyperlink, you need to right-click on the hyperlink, select “Edit Hyperlink”, and then change the reference.
    2. Check whether it is a synchronization problem of hyperlinks between worksheets In some cases, hyperlinks between worksheets may not be linked dynamically (i.e. hyperlink references are static). Therefore, when you update the hyperlinks in one worksheet, the hyperlinks in other worksheets will not be changed automatically.

For example, you can use formulas or dynamic references to generate hyperlinks.

    =HYPERLINK(A1, “displayed text”)

This will synchronize all references by simply changing the address of A1.

I hope the above information can help you. Feel free to send a message if you need further help.

    Best wishes

    Hi Aiden,

Here you go. See how it doesn't automatically change. I don't know maybe because my workbook is rather old. Could that be a reason?

    Thanks,

    RoGirl

    Hi, RoGirl

Can you share a screenshot or file of the situation? I may not have a clear picture of what you are describing.

    Looking forward for your reply!

    Hi Aiden,

Thank you for the reply. I am using one worksheet and different tabs sheets are acting up. Within the same worksheet one tab automatically synchronized in both places however another tab within the same worksheet isn't.

I found that a bit bizarre. First I change the "Text to Display" box and "Type the Cell Reference" box will automatically changes. They are sync in some sheets but not the other sheets within the same worksheet.

    Thanks,

    RoGirl
