Hebrew Vowels - My Microsoft Office 365 will not type Hebrew vowels using any of the multitude of techniques on the Internet - I have tried them all.

I have been able to in the past, so I must have accidentally changed some setting. I am no Geek, so I have no clue which setting to mess with. I have deleted and reinstalled and tried all 3 Hebrew keyboards to no avail. Please don't suggest any of the suggestions from the Internet. Oddly enough, I can copy and paste a Hebrew word with vowels from a jpeg document.

Fortunately, several weeks ago I created a Restore thumbdrive that saved my computer's life and my sanity - it restored all my files and settings for Windows 11 Microsoft 365 - at this point I am not going to worry about typing a Hebrew vowel - it still frustrates me that I can't find anything that works, but you all have tried to help - I'm sure I sounded like I didn't appreciate your responses, but I was happy just to get responses - for a while it appeared I was the only one n the world with a Hebrew vowel problem - thanks - and if anybody comes up with something else to try that doesn't involve deleting my files, I'll probably give it a try

Thanks - I know that works in Windows 10 but I am using Office 365 and it does not work in Word. I think I mentioned that I can type the vowels in a picture (jpeg) and in Excel. I can copy the jpeg and save ti as a Word document with vowels; copying the Excel document does not save the vowels. I don't know why Microsoft messed it up from Windows 10 to 365. I started to download and reinstall Windows 10 but it would delete everything, so I changed my mind and decided it was more important to keep all my files and settings in 365 than to be able to type a Hebrew vowel on rare occasion. I just wihs Microsoft would fix 365.

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately nothing worked. Strangely, what I have found out through trial and error is that I can type Hebrew vowels in a jpeg document and Excel and then copy them into a Word document. It is clumsy but I don't type that much in Hebrew, so I guess I'll just stick with copy and paste. But thanks for the reply.

Hi Seth, why on earth did Microsoft think that anyone wanting to type in Hebrew, would not also want to use vowels as standard is beyond my comprehension. Anyhow, the below video shows you how to add the vowel function.

    Hello SethCotharn,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

You seem to have referenced a number of suggestions from the internet that didn't work, and since you didn't mention exactly what you tried, the steps we gave may be repetitive.

    1. Check the language options in Office to make sure you have added Hebrew correctly in the authoring language field and then set it as the first option.

Add an editing or authoring language or set language preferences in Office - Microsoft Support

    1. Repair Office

If this does not work, it is recommended that you try to repair Office, if Microsoft 365 or an Office application (such as Word or Excel) isn't working properly, you can try to fix it. Try the “Quick Fix” first, if that doesn't work try the older and more thorough “Online Fix”. You may need to restart your computer after you're done.

For more information, see: Repair an Office application - Microsoft Support

    1. In addition, when you use Office in a new local account environment, does everything work.

Please refer to this link to create a new local account to attempt a reinstallation and logon, this will generate a new user profile for troubleshooting in case of problems in the current user's environment.

    1. As a troubleshooting exercise, it is also possible to visit Microsoft 365 Web via a browser to see if the issue encounters the same problem.

I hope this is useful and please feel free to share any results.

    Best regards,
