Excel Import Data from Web

Hi.

I'm on a Mac with a fresh install of MS 365 Personal.

In Excel I am trying to access the feature, "Import from Web" however it is not available under Data. Is this feature available on the personal version or do I have to upgrade to a business account?

After 2 hours on hold and being hung up on, here is the response: "The "Import from Web" feature is indeed not natively available in Excel for Mac, even with a business account. However, there is a workaround using Power Query and creating a .iqy file."

I tried the above and it doesn't work. Overall time spent trying to get an answer for MS: 3.5 hours. Tech support needs an overhaul, that was a horrible experience.

Microsoft - while I appreciate the office suite being available on MAC's, please make the capabilities the same as a PC.

Often data on web pages is not displayed as unrestricted HTML tables. When that happens, scraping data from a web page becomes a challenge. What looks like a regular table often is not. It could be javascript or a picture. If you can't figure out what format the content actually is, you might share in a reply to this thread a link to the web page you would like to use as a data source.

The feature is called Web Query on Mac.

This page is a bit stale, but it should still do the trick: http://www.agentjim.com/MVP/Excel/WebQueryHowTo.html
