Copilot is not available on my OneNote and Outlook whilst available on Word, Excel, and Powerpoint

Hi there,

Hope this email finds you well.

I have just updated Microsoft 365 (personal) package, hoping to get most out of the latest copilot function. I am a Microsoft 365 personal subscriber for Mac. I also upgraded my MacOS to Sequoia version.

Based on Microsoft 365 Copilot, I, as a Microsoft 365 personal (account) subscriber), should be accessible to all of Microsoft package which I am entitled including Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and OneNote. Also, Microsoft community highlights that For regions without Copilot availability, the Microsoft 365 Copilot app will remove the Copilot tab from the Home screen across web, desktop, and mobile app endpoints.

Indeed, I can see Copilot icon appeared in Excel, Word, and Powerpoint and these are working as well. Strangely enough, the copilot icon is not available in outlook and OneNote. I don't think this case would be applied to regions where Copilot is not available since some of them are available and working in East Asia where I am.

Therefore, could any expert help explain it and hopefully solve the problem?

Kind regards,

Sophia Wang

    Hi Allen,

    Thanks for your reply.

In response to your questions, regarding OneNote, I downloaded as a standalone app which comes with others (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Outlook) as a Microsoft 365 personal (account) subscription package. To clarify that, I see icon of Copilot icon on my OneNote, but it is not clickable. Please refer to below screenshot.

In terms of outlook, I use my hotmail personal account. Just try to understand availability of Copilot to Microsoft accounts which colour-coded lines in below screenshot, I believe it includes Microsoft 365 personal account. I also logged in my hotmail account on web. Interestingly enough, Copilot icon is available and is active on web (see below screenshot). However, it doesnt' appear on my standalone Outlook which I frequently use.

To better assist you in resolving the problem, I need to confirm one thing. I noticed that your device is a Mac. How did you download OneNote? Is it a standalone application?

Additionally, please note that Copilot in Outlook only supports work accounts. You can refer to this information.
