How to not open a powerpoint in edge or how to make it at least open??

after i finish a presentation and save it on desktop i has that little microsoft edge icon on it (i hope you know what i mean), but after i click on it its just white!! i have powerpoint 2007 and i know nothing about laptops and such, also i have a presentation due in a week, please help!! i would include a screenshot but i have no idea how to make one

    Thanks for posting in the community. 

    Change the default program:

    You can try changing the default program to open PowerPoint files. Right-click your PowerPoint file, select "Open with", and then select "Choose another app". In the pop-up window, select PowerPoint 2007 and check "Always use this app to open .pptx (or .ppt) files".

    Check file associations:

    Make sure your file associations are correct. Open Settings > Apps (or shortcut: Win+I), select "Default Programs", then search for .pptx (.ppt) in "Set defaults for file types or link types", and then select Microsoft PowerPoint below.

    hii tysm i had no idea it was that easy, and apparently it wasnt even edge, it was like net explorer or something idk . anyway the problem was solved ty!
