how to convert Word doc into PDF

I want to convert a Word doc to a PDF file. I found info (below) on MS community, but this does not appear to work for me. When I go into Save As, I do not see Format list at the bottom, so I cannot access Common Formats

Alternatively, when I go into Print as suggested below, I do not see a PDF button at borrom of dialog window.

I am running Windows 10. I've been trying to find a way to convert Word to PDF for the past hour, and am quite frustrated. Would appreciate any help!

PS: I do not have Adobe Acrobat App. When I downloaded this recently, it automaticaly downloaded McAfee antivirus which constantly gave pop-ups and interfered with other programs !

Quoted from MS Community: You just need to select the Save As command to call the Save As dialog window, itself. When you go into the Save As dialog open the Format: list near the bottom. You'll find PDF listed as the last item in the Common Formats section at the beginning of the list.

Alternatively, you can use File> Print then click the PDF button at the bottom of the dialog window & select Save as PDF.

    Does this work for you?

    • Select File > Export.
    • Click 'Create PDF/XPS'.

    • Select 'PDF (*.pdf)' from the 'Save as Type' drop-down (it is the default option).
    • Specify the location and filename.
    • Click Publish.

Thanks much for your quick reply, Hans! I'd seen the PDFXPS Publish function earlier, but hesitated to use this since it was not mentioned in the previous MS help answer....was not sure what Publish function was!

I'm very grateful for MS Community, which has been a great help and saved me much time and prevented much frustration!
