My Visio 2019 desktop version stopped allowing me to edit and create new files.

Yesterday, my Visio 2019 desktop version stopped allowing me to edit or create new files. I have ensured my license is current, checked for updates, tried the repair function, checked file protection, deleted both 365 and Visio, reinstalled Visio, and then reinstalled 365. I am really at a loss here

    Hi Britt Hall,

As per the description, it seems like the Visio 2019 license is still valid and connected to your account, but suddenly, Visio desktop application is saying Inactivated or Read-Only Mode which prevented you from editing or creating files.

If my understanding is correct, I suggest you using the official tool OLicenseCleanup.zip file to reset the local activation environment and then restart Visio to enter your account again on the start page, and see if the license connection can be active again. If the issue persists, could you please share a complete screenshot from Microsoft account | Services & subscriptions regarding to the Visio license for a further troubleshooting?

Please correct me if I made any misunderstanding and I will be here waiting for your updates.

Appreciate your time and patience. Hope you a nice day and stay safe!

    Best Regards,

    Mia

Running the OLicenseCleanup.zip did the trick. As of now, Visio appears to be working again. Thank you for your help.
