Does OneNote (Office 365/Win 11) support MP3 files for audio recordings?

    Hi Daniel Stengert,

    Thank you for reaching out with your question about OneNote's audio recording capabilities.

    Currently, OneNote (Office 365/Windows 11) does not support MP3 files for for direct audio recordings. Instead, it uses the WMA (Windows Media Audio) codec for recordings.

    But when exporting the files, you can choose save it as .mp3 format. Based on my testing, it still works.

    And you can also manually insert a .mp3 file OneNote pages by embedding them as attachments or using the "Insert" tab, which allows you to add audio files in formats like MP3.
