I want to buy the lifetime license because the subscription model is unsustainable for me financially. I need it for my current laptop, but if i buy a new one after this one stops working, is it not possible to use the lifetime license i bought?

    Dear Ash95_B

Thanks for raising your concerns in Microsoft Community.

Based on your description, I understand that you want to inquire about the license transfer of Office 2024. I understand your confusion.

Office 2024 can indeed only be activated and used on one device, but this does not mean that it can only be installed and activated on one device. If the original computer is no longer used, you can install Office 2024 on a new computer and transfer the license to the new computer for activation.

When the license is transferred to the new computer, the Office on the old computer will become [Not Activated] and cannot be used.

Because the license of Office 2024 is associated with an account, you only need to make sure that the account is active and can be logged in normally. If the account is deleted, the Office associated with the account will not be available.

I hope the above information is helpful to you. We are looking forward to hearing from you and will continue to assist you.

    Best Regards,
