How to adjust transparency?

Added a picture watermark to the document, and it looks a bit too obvious. I hope to make it more transparent.

When you inserted the watermark, did you check the box for "Washout"? (I believe it is selected automatically.) If the picture is still too obvious, you can adjust it manually. A watermark is just a picture anchored to the header, so access the header, click on the picture, and increase the Brightness. You can also reduce the contrast, set it to Grayscale, or make other adjustments.

    Hi ClaraFT,

    Thanks for visiting Microsoft Community.

Currently, there is no way to adjust the transparency of images used as watermarks in Word; this is by design. I recommend using image editing software like Photoshop to directly adjust the transparency of the image itself before adding it as a watermark in your document.

I hope this helps clarify the situation for you.

    Best Regards,
