how to highlight an active row so that I can see it clearly and not lose my place

I work on a few spreadsheets at a time and find that the box highlighting the cell I'm working in isn't apparent enough. I've looked at conditional formatting and can't figure out how to do it.

All I want to do, is for Excel to highlight the cell I'm actually in so I don't lose my place when jumping from work book to work book.

Is there an easy way to do this?

I'm using Windows 11 Microsoft 365

Have you checked out the new Focus Cell feature? It highlights the row and column of whatever your current active cell is. On the View ribbon select Focus Cell in the Show section to activate it.

    Hi

Thanks for taking the time to answer.

I should have mentioned, I'm using a live spreadsheet through Share point, so sadly I don't have this option available here. Unless you know of a way to add this option or make it available for live sheets as well?

    Thanks

If dealing with multiple instances probably simplest if you simply amend cell format color

    Hi

Thanks so much for your quick response. But how would I do that?

I really just need to be able to quickly look at the page and find where I am, it's so difficult to see.

I guess older versions of windows you could do this, but on Windows 11, the conditional formatting is different than all the tutorials I've seen on youtube.

    Thanks!
