Someone on Groupon is claiming to sell lifetime subscriptions to 365 for 25 dollars plus other Microsoft products really cheap. Obviously a scam but no one seems to care.

I purchase Office 2024 from Groupon and tried to put it on my computer, but it didn't work. So, I had to take my computer to Best Buy geeks to get my old Office back on. I wrote to Groupon and ask from my money back. But, the had to write to a different email and they said I didn't know how to put it on and it's a lifetime software. But, it won't work. Something needs to be done.

    Hello, Joshua Miller5

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I realized that you have noticed counterfeit Microsoft products on Groupon. Thank you for pointing out this issue.

Your awareness of potential risks is truly commendable. Sometimes third-party retailers indeed offer counterfeit or pirated Microsoft products, often attracting consumers with lower prices.

If it is convenient for you, please report the suspicious counterfeit software on Groupon directly to Microsoft through the Counterfeit Software Report website.

Here is the link: How To Tell - Counterfeit Software Report

This will help with information gathering so that Microsoft can better protect your rights and those of other consumers.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation, as well as for your support of genuine Microsoft products.

    Best wishes,

Lucia Wu - MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist

It's true. Groupon's customer service was really terrible for a well-known company. If people's privacy is compromised, their computers are damaged, or they've paid money for a product they can't use, Groupon has demonstrated it will continie to sell that product to other customers anyway and make them eat the cost. In my case, I wrote to the seller and got a refund.

I think I might have just fallen for this. I was unable to get a hold of anyone at Microsoft when my computer crashed, and my system would not accept my old Microsoft Product Key. After being hung up on multiple times by the Microsoft AI, I decided just to purchase a new key, and this was being marketed as being sold by a Microsoft Partner. I didn't realize I had to download from a third-party site until I was sent the email. Can anyone at Microsoft help me restore my old version of Microsoft?
