in powerpoint, how can I control which layout will be the next

When using a template I have in power point, I start with the Title slide layout. After doing that one I can easily create a new slide after and then my Chapter layout comes up (i. e. not the same as previous). If I then do the same, adding new slide then the same Chapter layout comes up (normal procedure). There is then a functionality to control which layout to come next when you are building your templates. This is a rather nice functionality and I have done it before but can no longer find out how I can do it. Any suggestions?

Here's an illustration of George's explanation. The second layout "Default Slide Layout" is the default for a new slide after a title slide:

Good evening from my side and thank you for your clear explanation. Tested and fully understand. I will then change so first after Title slide will be my regular slide for text etc.

I have then moved my "Chapter side", local term and not relating to any hierarchic order.

Thing is that I wanted to use this functionality related to a specific Layout - but then if I understand this correctly, it is not possible.

Can of course live with it but it would have been clever when you insert a break of different Layouts in your presentation, and next slide after that falls back to the "regular" Layout. But again, not a big thing and it is smarter for me to rearrange it following your instructions.

Effective and quick feedback - again many thanks'

    Hi Magnus97,

    Good day to you!

I hope you are doing well. Thanks for reaching out to our Microsoft Community Forum. We will be happy to help you.

Based on my testing and search, you need to adjust the order of the layout after the Title layout in Slide Master view. Go to the View tab> Slide Master. In Slide Master, the first slide (the larger slide) is the Master Slide, the second "slide" is the Title layout. You need to move the layout you want after the Title layout and then click "Close Master View".

When you have any updates, please feel free and come back to share them with us. We will continue to help you.😊

    Sincerely,
