    Have a nice day, Selim!

In this case, you need to ask your IT administrator, who has administrative rights, to perform these steps for you.

If you’re unsure who the Global Admin is within your organization, you can find guidance on locating them here: How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support.

hey Alina. Yes, it's a group connected site. No, it hasn't worked yet. I unfortunately do not have access to adminmicrosoft.com in order to continue with the next steps.

    Hello, Selim!

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Community!

About your Sharepoint problem, I want to provide some troubleshooting steps to check for it:

    Step 1: Check Site Type

    1. Go to your SharePoint site.
    2. Click the gear icon of Setting -> Site Information.
    3. Look for “Group-connected” or “Communication site”. (If it says something like “Connected to Microsoft 365 Group,” it’s a group-connected site. If there’s no mention of a group, it’s likely a communication site or classic site.)

    If it’s group-connected, proceed to Step 2.

Step 2: Add Members via Microsoft 365 Group

    1. Go to admin.microsoft.com
    2. Navigate to Teams & groups, choose Active Teams & groups.
    3. Find your site’s group name.
    4. Add members from there.

If you don’t see this option, you may not be a group owner.

    Step 3: Confirm Your Role

    1. Go to https://outlook.office.com/people
    2. Search for the group name.
    3. Check if you’re listed as an Owner or just a Member.

If you're not an owner, you’ll need to contact your IT admin or the actual group owner to grant you ownership.

If your site is not connected to a Microsoft 365 Group, the Member management is handled directly through SharePoint permissions. And in this situation, the “Add member” button may be missing due to site settingscustom permissions, or site collection-level restrictions.

Hope this information will be helpful for you. Please reach out to me again if you still have any questions or concerns.

    Best Regards,
