Will Microsoft Loop be included in government (G3/G5) licenses?

There is a shortage of good collaborative knowledge management tools that meld well with the MS365 suite. Microsoft Loop appears to address this need effectively. Getting Loop into the hands of government teams could really boost how they work together and share information.

The problem is, it's not currently part of the MS365 GCC/GCC-H licenses that governments typically use. Loop components are now part of Microsoft Teams, but there's no way to create and manage workspaces to maintain and organize pages.

Does Microsoft have any plans to fully integrate Loop into government licenses (e.g. G3 or G5)? And if they do, when might that happen?

    Dear Hersh Gupta

Welcome to the Microsoft Community! We are happy to assist you.

Thank you for your interest in Microsoft Loop and your inquiry about integrating it into a government license such as G3 or G5.

First and foremost, we very much understand the importance of Microsoft Loop in enhancing team collaboration and knowledge management, as well as its potential value in government organizations. Currently, Microsoft Loop is indeed part of Microsoft 365, but we recognize that not all Microsoft 365 subscriptions include the full functionality of Loop. For license requirements to access Loop functionality you can refer to: Loop access via Microsoft 365 subscriptions - Microsoft Support

Regarding Loop availability in government licenses (G3/G5), we are actively evaluating plans to integrate Loop into these specific subscriptions. We are committed to ensuring that all Microsoft 365 services meet the security and compliance requirements of government agencies.

While we are unable to provide an exact date at this time to advise when Loop will be fully integrated into government licenses, rest assured that our product teams are working diligently to ensure that Loop will be able to provide value to all customers as soon as possible.

We recommend that you regularly follow our official announcements and product updates for the latest information.

If you have any ideas or suggestions for Microsoft Loop applications you can post them on the dedicated feedback platform Loop · Community (microsoft.com), where a dedicated developer will follow and comment on your feedback. After sending your feedback, you can share the feedback link in this forum so that other users with similar issues, including me, can vote on your feedback, and the more votes you get, the more likely you are to get attention from the development team.

Hi, I found this on their official support page (not forum):

Loop access via Microsoft 365 subscriptions - Microsoft Support

While it doesn't specifically mention not supporting "G" licenses, they are not included in the list.

To have access to all Loop app features, users with work accounts (Microsoft Entra accounts) need one of the following Microsoft 365 plans:

    • Microsoft 365 Business Standard
    • Microsoft 365 Business Premium
    • Microsoft 365 E3
    • Microsoft 365 E5
    • Microsoft 365 A3
    • Microsoft 365 A5
    • Microsoft 365 E3, E5, A3, or A5 Extra Features; when combined with a corresponding Office 365 or Microsoft 365 plan.

It would be great if Microsoft would comment as to whether or not they are actively working on providing this for those of us with government licenses.

Hi, has there been any update on this? I am unable to find Microsoft pages (official articles, not support forum) that specifically address G3/G5 in their licensing verbiage for confirmation that this is not supported. I do see articles that name business and enterprise licensing, but nothing that confirms governmental licensing is not supported. On the pages I have seen, governmental licensing isn't mentioned at all and it's been a year since there's been any conversation in the support forums.
